Halloween messes can be scary. Here’s the quickest way to clean up the most gruesome Halloween spills
Fake Blood or Colored Hair Spray
It consists of corn syrup and red flood coloring or dye… making is a pretty tough stain to clean up, especially from fiberous material, like carpet… it can even be tough to get off of counter tops or hardwood floors or furniture. Rubbing alcohol will typically remove food coloring or dyes from all of the above listed surfaces.

Real Blood
Hey, it can happen. All because Little Johnny over there just HAD to have a real ninja sword to complete his Ninja turtle costume. Hydrogen peroxide followed by cold water and lots of repeats should do the trick… or contact lens solution … none of that readily available? You can try your saliva.
Chocalate
Wonderful to have, until it melts into something you have to sit on or wear. Shout is a great pre-treatment solution. Especially if it’s on a washable object.
Candy
Scotchgard will work to take candy marks on clothing or your furniture. We recommend stocking up before Halloween and Valentines day, especially with littles in the house!
If you have sticky candy or sticky alcoholic beverage spills, like suckers or melted nerds with fruit punch spilled over the top – it can make quite a mess… Don’t scrub. Simply soak a washcloth in extremely hot water and leaving the cloth on the spill for a few seconds. The humidity will help loosen it up. If there’s any marks left from the food coloring – go back to tip #1
Candy smushed onto a hard surface – use a straight blade, sharp knife, or an air compressor to unstick candy that is stuck. Then just simply suck it up with the vacuum cleaner.
Glitter
The ban of ALL parents existence. It’s something you can never fully get rid of, once it’s been released. Things that may help? Play-Doh, or putty. Vacuum with a great suction. Lint rollers or duct tape… heck, even painters tape will do… and possibly ending with calling a priest and having an exorcism if all else fails.
Pumpkin
Did you leave it out a bit too long in the October heat? Gotta love that oozing rotting Jack-o-Lantern sitting on your top step. One product. WD-40.
Party a bit too hard?
Last but definitely not the least, VOMIT – Once all the … bulk of it has been picked up… you can use something along the lines of Nature’s Miracle, it’ll neutralize the smells. You can also try baking soda, if the smell continues and let it sit there for about an hour, before vacuuming it up.
